New for 2025/2026 Season (PDF Link of this document)
For the 2025/26 season all members who want to participate in the Round Robins at any level will need a Signup Genius account. These are simple to sign up for. Linked here are the step by step instructions to walk you through the process.
You cannot sign up for an account as “anonymous”. This eliminates the club’s ability to effectively track who is playing in Round Robins.
You will be able to sign up only yourself. No one else. Multiple people being signed up by a person has caused confusion and too many players showing up for Round Robins this season.
It will be the individual’s responsibility to delete themselves from a Round Robin not administrators. It’s simple to do if you have an account.
Changes to High Intermediate and Advanced Round Robin play at the Mountain Courts ONLY
For the remainder of the 2025/26 season all High Intermediate and Advanced players who wish to compete in Round Robins at the Mountain Courts will need to adjust after feedback at the March AGM and a survey responded to by over 120 members.
The Competition and Development Committee met multiple times to provide avenues for fair and competitive play in the Round Robins. After careful consideration of both survey results and feedback from our club’s annual general meeting (AGM) the following changes are going to be implemented immediately. Co-President Don O has approved these changes.
All GPN scoring will come to an end effective immediately. Again, this is based on both survey results and your feedback from the AGM.
To move from Intermediate up to High Intermediate or High Intermediate to Advanced here are the simple steps:
A player should initially try the next level up by playing with either High Intermediate or Advanced during the scheduled open play for that level on the main courts. When doing this try to play with three High Intermediate or Advanced players for several games to get a good feel for how your level of play fits with the next level higher players.
If after that trial session you still feel you would like to move up for Round Robins on the Mountain Courts, contact either Tony Conver (High Intermediate) cell # 425-766-6959 or Steve Vielleux (Advanced) cell# 406-788-1803. They will add your name to the Signup Genius invitation list.
Please initially sign up for the 10 am sessions. The 10 am session will have designated support people to help you get settled in. They will monitor your initial games. And they may “privately “ suggest one key skill to work on during the Round Robin play.
How we play round robins in Gold Canyon
The games are to be played to 11 points, win by 1 point. When there is only one court remaining in play, that court will change to / finish the game in rally scoring to speed up play. For a detailed description of ROUND ROBIN RULES Click Here
